Everlasting Fire | Poem

Buried beneath layers of snow

You’d think I’d be wise enough

To let this go.

But burns the everlasting fire in me

So much so that when I stand in this storm

I do not freeze.

For a brief second

It is only you and I.

And all alone together

Enjoying the best of times.

And being here by your side

Stifles the departure’s subsequent cries.
