Happy August, all!

This was the month I wrapped up my internship, ending the month with a successful presentation and poster session. During busier times like these, I would typically default to my usual Gilmore Girls. That being so, I only watched 12 movies this month and read one book. All of them were so good! I give each of these movies at least one ‘ ❤ ‘. Most of these films were classics that I’ve been meaning to watch like Titanic and Breakfast at Tiffany’s, or staples of their respective genres, like love jones and Fantastic Mr. Fox. I ended the month strong with Barbie. I highly recommend them all!!

• Black Girl Unlimited (Magical realism novel that I adored)
• Fantastic Mr. Fox
• Jack Stauber’s Opal
• A Trip to the Moon (1902)
• Mermaids (great movie, although I kept holding out for Cher to turn into a mermaid!)
• love jones (the atmosphere in this movie is my favorite part)
• If Beale Street Could Talk
• Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella
• Breakfast at Tiffany’s (The perfect romance. This movie was so much more scandalous than I was expecting!)
• Lean on Me (Morgan Freeman is just too cool)
• 9 to 5
• Titanic (Romantic, thrilling, nightmarish–this is a movie anyone could love. I was able to hold back my tears… until the last ten seconds.)
• Barbie (Believe the hype, go see it!)
