Spelman College Acceptance: 2020 College Transition Process

It’s been three weeks since I received my acceptance letter to Spelman College! To any of my fellow rising seniors, or anyone else interested in the process, I want to document my journey from high school to college.

I am currently gathering up my needed files and deposits as well as signing my required forms. For the past two days, I have been attending virtual seminars–called Spelbound webinars–and I have learned a lot of new information concerning financial aid and housing. It’s all so overwhelming and exciting!

I mentioned a few posts ago (click here to read it!) that this school year has been the weirdest one yet. I keep forgetting I’m still a senior. I still have work to do for my current classes; I still need to keep on top of high school-related issues concerning graduation. Mentally, I have already graduated, and it’s a really odd feeling.

A lot of my time revolves around researching scholarships and writing essays– I have never written so many separate papers in a two-week timespan before! This process is pretty important since Spelman is an expensive institution (totally worth it ;)) and I’d rather not bankrupt my family. I haven’t been blogging as much because I’m not currently allowed to share these stories, or I could be disqualified from my potential scholarships!

Thank you to all my new followers and regular supporters. Thank you for all the likes and love, and please continue to leave comments: they make my day :))

If you would like to support me, please consider purchasing my novel Accursed Red. I’m only one more sale away to getting my next check!! If you can’t, I totally understand. The world is in a weird state right now for everyone, as is everyone’s financial situation.

Hello and hello, and I’ll see you soon!
